(1)  Upon an indictment for committing an unlawful act intended to cause bodily harm the accused person may be convicted of –

(a) wounding or causing grievous bodily harm; or

(ab) strangulation; or

(b) assault.

(2)  Upon an indictment for wounding or causing grievous bodily harm the accused person may be convicted of assault or strangulation.
