CRIMES ACT 1958 - SECT 53A

Definitions

In this Subdivision—

S. 53A def. of commercial sexual services repealed by No. 7/2022 s. 41(a).

S. 53A def. of threat amended by No. 7/2022 s. 41(b).

"threat" means—

        (a)     threat of force; or

        (b)     threat to cause a person's deportation; or

        (c)     threat of any other detrimental action unless there are reasonable grounds for the threat of that action in connection with the provision of commercial sexual services;

Example

A manager may have reasonable grounds to threaten to dismiss a worker who is regularly late for work.

"use", in relation to a debt or purported debt, includes impose, arrange, negotiate or refer to the debt or purported debt.
