Victorian Consolidated Regulations Victorian Consolidated Regulations(1) A pyrotechnician discharging long string Chinese firecrackers must ensure that—
(a) all persons not involved in the discharge of the firecrackers are kept at least 5 m in every direction from the firing point by the use of fences, cordons or similar means; and
(b) sufficient security personnel are present to prevent the public and any other unauthorised persons from entering the display site during the discharge of the firecrackers; and
(c) the firecrackers are securely attached to a support that suspends the entire string above the ground and that will not fall over when the firecrackers are discharged.
(2) In this regulation, "long string Chinese firecrackers" means strings of Chinese firecrackers longer than 500 mm.
