ROAD SAFETY ROAD RULES 2017 - REG 207

Parking where fees are payable

Rule 207(1) amended by S.R. No. 96/2019 rule 9(1).

    (1)     This rule applies to a driver who parks on a length of road, or in an area, to which a permissive parking sign applies if information on or with the sign indicates that a fee is payable for parking.

    (2)     The driver must—

        (a)     pay the fee (if any); and

        (b)     obey any instructions on or with the sign.

Penalty:     2 penalty units.

    (3)     Subrule (1) does not apply if—

        (a)     the driver is using a vehicle for the purpose of the operation of a detection device prescribed for the purposes of section 66 of the Road Safety Act 1986 ; or

        (b)     the driver's vehicle is—

              (i)     a trailer carrying a relocatable digital RSC; or

              (ii)     towing a trailer carrying a relocatable digital RSC.

2     Rule 165 provides defences to the prosecution of a driver for an offence against a provision of this Division.
