TRANSPORT (COMPLIANCE AND MISCELLANEOUS) (TICKETING) REGULATIONS 2017 - REG 14

Defence in relation to entry to a compulsory ticket area

It is a defence to a charge under regulation 7(2) or  9(2) that the person charged took all reasonable steps to have in the person's possession or to produce for inspection (as the case requires) a ticket that was valid for the entry that were available—

        (a)     before entering the compulsory ticket area; and

        (b)     while the person was in the compulsory ticket area.
