Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) The Minister may appoint a person to act in the place of a member who is absent from duty or who, for any other reason, is unable to perform the duties of the office.
(2) An acting member is appointed for the term, and on such other terms and conditions, as are specified in the instrument of appointment.
(3) A person appointed under sub-section (1) has all the powers, and may perform all the duties, of the member for whom he or she is acting.
(4) The Minister may at any time terminate an acting appointment.
