TRANSPORT (PASSENGER VEHICLES) REGULATIONS 2005 (SR NO 66 OF 2005) - REG 68

No travelling in places not intended for travel etc.

    (1)     A person must not, without reasonable excuse, travel or attempt to travel on a part of a vehicle not intended for the purpose of travel.

Penalty:     20 penalty units.

    (2)     A rider of a bicycle or a person in or on a wheeled recreational device or wheeled toy must not attach or attempt to attach himself or herself or another person or the bicycle, wheeled recreational device or wheeled toy to the exterior of a vehicle for any purpose.

Penalty:     20 penalty units.

    (3)     Sub-regulation (2) does not apply to a person who, with the permission of the driver of a vehicle, secures a bicycle to a bike rack or other similar fixture attached to the exterior of the vehicle.

    (4)     In this regulation—

"wheeled recreational device" means a wheeled device intended to transport a person that is propelled by human power or gravity, and ordinarily used for recreation or play, and includes rollerblades, roller-skates, a skateboard or similar wheeled device, but does not include a golf buggy, pram, stroller, trolley, bicycle, wheelchair or wheeled toy;

"wheeled toy" means a child's pedal car, scooter, tricycle or similar toy.
