How trust money received at non-participating services to be handled (1) The designated officer of a non-participating residential service must ensure that any money that is received by any person working (whether for reward or not) at the service from, or on behalf of, an eligible person at the service for the benefit or use of the eligible person is paid into a trust account in the name of the eligible person kept at an authorised deposit-taking institution or other financial institution approved by the Secretary. (2) The payment must be made as soon as is practicable, and in any event, must be made before the end of the next bank business day after the day on which the money is received. (3) Despite sub-sections (1) and (2), money that is received at the service need not be paid into a trust account if it is paid to, or on behalf of, the eligible person or persons entitled to it within 7 days after it is received.
