3. Explanatory Details

1 S. 14: Section 15(9) of the University Acts (Amendment) Act 1996, No. 57/1996 reads as follows:
	15.	Transitional provisions for Council
	(9)	Section 14 applies to the filling of casual vacancies arising before section 7(2)(e), (f) or (j) of the Swinburne University of Technology Act 1992, as the case requires, applies.

2 S. 42: Section 65(2) of University Acts (Further Amendment) Act 1995, No. 70/1995 reads as follows:
	65.	Restriction on alienation of University land
	(2)	The amendment of section 42 of the Swinburne University of Technology Act 1992 made by subsection (1) applies to land whether granted before or after the commencement of that subsection.

3 S. 56: Section 26 of the Tertiary Education Act 1993, No. 18/1993 reads as follows:
	26.	Post-graduate courses at Swinburne University of Technology
Despite the repeal of Division 3 of Part II of the Post-Secondary Education Act 1978, that Division and section 56 of the Swinburne University of Technology Act 1992 continue to apply to courses of study undertaken at Swinburne University of Technology until the transfer day within the meaning of section 60 of the Swinburne University of Technology Act 1992 as if a reference to the Victorian Post-Secondary Commission were a reference to the Minister.
