(1) An authorised
person may exercise a power in relation to someone only if —
(a) the
authorised person first produces the authorised person’s identity card
for the other person’s inspection; or
(b) the
authorised person has the identity card displayed so it is clearly visible to
the other person.
(2) However, if for
any reason it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) before
exercising the power, the authorised person may exercise the power and then
produce the identity card for inspection by the person at the first reasonable
opportunity.
