(1) The Chief Health
Officer must prepare one or more public health emergency management plans, as
the Chief Health Officer considers necessary.
(2) In preparing a
public health emergency management plan, the Chief Health Officer must have
regard to State emergency management policies prepared under the
Emergency Management Act 2005 section 17 and State emergency management plans
prepared under section 18 of that Act.
(3) A public health
emergency management plan, and any amendment to a public health emergency
management plan, has effect when it is signed by the Chief Health Officer.
(4) The Chief Health
Officer may review, amend or replace a public health emergency management plan
whenever the Chief Health Officer considers it appropriate.
(5) The Chief Health
Officer may arrange for a public health emergency management plan to be tested
whenever the Chief Health Officer considers it appropriate.
(6) For the purposes
of subsection (2), the person holding office as the chairman of the State
Emergency Management Committee under the Emergency Management Act 2005 must
ensure that the Chief Health Officer is provided with copies of State
emergency management policies and State emergency management plans.
