(1) For the purpose of
stopping a vehicle under section 240(1)(i), an authorised officer may use any
means that are reasonably necessary in the circumstances to do so, including
means that hinder or obstruct the passage of other vehicles.
(2) Subsection (1)
does not authorise the use of means that are intended or are likely to cause
death or serious bodily harm to any person, whether or not in a vehicle.
(3) An authorised
officer who stops a vehicle in order to exercise a power in respect of the
vehicle —
(a) may
detain the vehicle for a reasonable period in order to exercise the power; and
(b) may
move the vehicle to a place suitable to exercise the power.
