(1) An authorised
officer may apply to a judicial officer for a warrant in respect of any
premises —
(a) if
the authorised officer reasonably suspects that there is, or may be within the
next 72 hours, a particular thing (including a document) that may provide
evidence that an offence under this Act has been committed or is being
committed; or
(b)
otherwise for the purposes of exercising powers under section 240.
(2) An authorised
officer may apply for a warrant in respect of any premises even if the
authorised officer has power to enter the premises without a warrant.
