(1) If the Chief
Officer is satisfied —
(a)
there are grounds to suspend or cancel a licence; and
(b) that
if the procedure in regulation 43 were followed, an unacceptable risk in
relation to an SSAN in relation to people, property or the environment would
exist while it is followed,
he or she may suspend
the licence for such period as he or she decides by giving the holder of the
licence a written notice of the suspension and the suspension period (stated
either as a period of time or by reference to a future event) and written
reasons for the decision.
(2) The suspension has
effect when the holder is given the notice or on any later date stated in it.
(3) This regulation
does not prevent the Chief Officer from also taking action under regulation 43
to cancel a licence.
