Subjects comprising syllabus of radiation safety examination
1. Properties and uses of radiation.
2. Production, detection and measurement of
radiation.
3. Biological effects of radiation.
4. Circumstances which may give rise to radiation
hazards and means of protecting persons from those hazards.
5. Theory and practice of production of
radiographic or other images of persons, animals or things for diagnostic
purposes.
6. Recognition of technical artefacts, and normal
anatomy and pathology of persons shown in images.
7. Measures to be taken to eliminate unnecessary
exposure, and to reduce dose from necessary exposure, of persons submitted to
radiation for diagnostic purposes.
8. The Radiation Safety Act 1975 , and
regulations made thereunder, together with all amendments to that Act and
those regulations.
9. Standards, rules, codes or specifications
recognized by the Council for the purposes of regulation 5(1).
