This legislation has been repealed.
(1) Whenever a vessel
or powder lighter is conveying explosive, due provision shall be made by the
master and owner for preventing the introduction into that vessel or lighter
of fire, lucifer matches or any substance or article likely to cause explosion
or fire, or the introduction therein of any iron, steel or grit so as to come
in contact with explosive; and if the explosive carried in a vessel or powder
lighter is liable to be dangerously effected by water, due precaution shall be
taken to prevent water coming into contact with the explosive.
(2) This regulation
shall not be construed to prevent the introduction of an artificial light of
such construction, position or character, or of safety matches of such
character, as not to cause any danger of fire or explosion.
