A person shall not
drive a motor vehicle or a combination of a motor vehicle and trailer, during
the hours of darkness, unless it is equipped with such lamps and reflectors as
are prescribed by the Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1977
or the Road Traffic (Towed Agricultural Implements) Regulations 1990 as
those to be carried by that vehicle or combination, and the lamps are alight.
