This legislation has been repealed.
(1) A motor cycle
shall not be used upon a road for the carriage of more than one person in
addition to the driver.
(2) A motor cycle
shall not be used upon a road for the carriage of a passenger,
unless —
(a) the
motor cycle is provided with foot-rests and a seat, as prescribed by the
Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1977 , as amended from time
to time, for use by the passenger; and
(b) the
passenger is sitting upon the prescribed seat, astride the motor cycle, facing
forward and using the prescribed foot-rests.
