ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
Introduction
[1] This is an application by Taedoo Jun for a General Manager’s Certificate pursuant to s.118 of the Act.
[2] At the time of his application Mr Jun was working at “Star Mart Cuba Mall”, Wellington. His employer initially supported his application, which was accompanied by two favourable references.
[3] The Inspector opposed the application on the ground that the applicant failed to attend an interview to determine his experience, qualifications, and knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 to hold a General Manager’s Certificate.
[4] Mr Jun is no longer working at “Star Mart Cuba Mall”. Attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful. He has not appeared today to support his application. By his absence we can only conclude that Mr Jun no longer wishes to pursue his application.
[5] In all the circumstances, Mr Jun’s application for a General Manager's Certificate is refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 15th day of July 2004
