ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This is an application by Ming Hong Tran for a General Manager's Certificate.
[2] The application was filed with the Wellington District Licensing Agency in early January of this year. In accordance with the Agency’s policy, the applicant was sent a letter acknowledging his application, and requesting that he contact the Inspector to arrange a date and time for an interview. In the Wellington licensing district, all applicants are interviewed to establish their experience, qualification, and knowledge of the Act.
[3] An appointment was made for the end of January but Mr Tran failed to attend the interview. He was sent a further letter. His employer was called in June of this year only to find that Mr Tran had ceased his employment.
[4] Mr Tran has failed to appear. Although he is the holder of the Licence Controller Qualification his absence from the interview process as well as the
[5] hearing, would indicate to us that he is no longer interested in pursuing his application. Accordingly, the application for a General Manager’s Certificate is now refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 30th day of October 2007
