(1) In this chapter:
"ACT law" means an Act or statutory instrument.
Note A reference to an Act or statutory instrument includes a reference to a provision of the Act or instrument (see s 7 and s 13).
"law "means an ACT law or a law of another jurisdiction.
"law of another jurisdiction" means an Act or statutory instrument of another jurisdiction, and includes a provision of an Act or statutory instrument of another jurisdiction.
Note Another jurisdiction means the Commonwealth, a State, another Territory, the United Kingdom or New Zealand (see dict, pt 2).
(2) In this section:
"Act", in relation to another Territory, includes ordinance.
"statutory instrument", of another jurisdiction, means an instrument (whether or not legislative in nature) made under—
(a) an Act of the other jurisdiction; or
(b) another statutory instrument of the other jurisdiction; or
(c) power given by an Act or statutory instrument of the other jurisdiction and also power given otherwise by law.
