NAVIGATION AMENDMENT ACT 1980 No. 87, 1980 - SECT 62

62. Section 148C of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) "If a seaman" and substituting "Subject
to sub-section (1A), if a seaman"; and

   (b)  by inserting after sub-section (1) the following sub-section:



"(1A) Sub-section (1) does not apply in relation to a seaman serving under a
contract of sea service where the seaman is left on shore at a port in
accordance with the terms of his contract of sea service.".
