NATIONAL MEASUREMENT REGULATIONS 1999 1999 No. 110 1999 - REG 61

Variation of approval of patterns of measuring instruments
(1)
On application under regulation 59, the approving authority:

(a)
may, on payment of any relevant fee, examine the approved pattern as proposed to be varied; and

(b)
may vary the approval of the pattern of a measuring instrument approved by the authority; and

(c)
if the approval is varied — must issue the certificate as varied by the authority to the applicant; and

(d)
may issue a copy of the certificate to anyone else whom the authority considers should be given the copy.

(2)
The certifying authority must not examine a measuring instrument lodged with the application if the examination would create a significant risk of personal injury or death, or damage to property.

(3)
If the approval is varied by an approving authority that is not the Commission, the authority must notify the Commission in writing of the variation.

(4)
Variation of the approval of the pattern of a measuring instrument lodged with the application may be given subject to retention by the Commission of the whole or a part of the measuring instrument.
