SUPREME COURT ACT 1970 - SECT 72
Production of person confined
72 Production of person confined
(1) In this section
"tribunal or authority" means any court, judge or other judicature, or any
referee, arbitrator or umpire, or any person authorised to take the
examination of any witness or to conduct any inquiry, whether so authorised
for the purpose of proceedings in the Court or for any other purpose.
(2)
Where any prisoner or person is confined in any prison or place, under any
sentence or under commitment for trial or otherwise, the Court may make orders
for bringing the prisoner or person before any tribunal or authority, for the
purpose of answering any charge or otherwise taking part in any proceedings or
matter before the tribunal or authority, or for the purpose of being examined
as a witness, and for returning the prisoner or person to confinement.
