ANIMAL MANAGEMENT (CATS AND DOGS) ACT 2008 - SECT 33
Immediate suspension
(1) The chief executive may suspend the implanter immediately if the chief
executive believes— (a) a ground exists to suspend or prohibit the implanter
from implanting PPIDs; and
(b) it is necessary to suspend the implanter
immediately because there is an immediate and serious risk of harm to the
effectiveness of the identification or registration of cats or dogs under this
Act.
(2) The suspension— (a) must be effected by an information notice for
the decision given by the chief executive to the implanter to suspend the
implanter together with a show cause notice; and
(b) operates immediately the
notices are given; and
(c) continues to operate until the earliest of the
following happens— (i) the chief executive cancels the remaining period of
the suspension;
(ii) the show cause notice is finally dealt with;
(iii) 28
days have passed since the notices were given to the implanter.
