INTERACTIVE GAMBLING (PLAYER PROTECTION) ACT 1998 - SECT 137A
Self-exclusion order
(1) If a person gives a licensed provider a self-exclusion notice under
section 137 , the licensed provider must as soon as practicable give to the
person— (a) a notice in the approved form (a
"self-exclusion order" ) prohibiting the person from participating as a player
in authorised games conducted by the licensed provider; and
(b) details,
including the name and address, of at least 1 entity that provides counselling
services for problem gamblers.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—50 penalty
units.
(2) A self-exclusion order has effect for the period— (a) starting
when it is given to the person; and
(b) ending on the earlier of the
following— (i) when a revocation notice for the order takes effect under
section 137B (3) ;
(ii) the day that is 5 years after the day the order is
given to the person.
