INTERACTIVE GAMBLING (PLAYER PROTECTION) ACT 1998 - SECT 217
Requirements about stop directions
(1) A direction given to a person under section 216 (a
"stop direction" ) may be given orally or by written notice (a
"stop notice" ).
(2) However, if the direction is given orally, it must be
confirmed by written notice (also a
"stop notice" ) given to the person as soon as practicable.
(3) A
stop direction may be given for a thing at a place occupied by an
authorised provider, an agent or other person involved in Queensland in the
conduct of an authorised game.
(4) A stop direction does not apply to a use
of the thing carried out for repairing or testing the thing.
(5) A
stop notice must state— (a) the grounds on which the inspector believes the
thing is unsatisfactory; and
(b) the circumstances (if any) under which the
stop direction may be cancelled.
