62 Choosing government assessor
(1) The scheme manager must, as soon as practicable after receiving an
application for assistance, choose an appropriately qualified government
assessor to deal with the application. Note— See section 130 for the
requirement that a government assessor disclose interests that may conflict
with the performance of functions in relation to the application.
(2) From
time to time, the scheme manager may assign another appropriately qualified
government assessor to deal with the application, whether in addition to or in
place of the government assessor previously assigned under subsection (1) or
section 130 .
(3) In this section—
"appropriately qualified" , for dealing with an application for assistance,
means appropriately qualified having regard to— (a) the complexity of the
issues involved; and
(b) any other matter the scheme manager considers
relevant.
