(1) An authorised officer may exercise a power in relation to a person if the authorised officer—
(a) before exercising the power, produces the authorised officer's identity card for the person's inspection; or
(b) has the identity card displayed so it is clearly visible to the person.
(2) If it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) before exercising a power, the authorised officer must produce the identity card for the person's inspection at the first reasonable opportunity.
