(1) A person (the
informant ) is not liable in any way for any loss or damage suffered by
another person because the informant has given information or produced a
document, in good faith, to an inquirer for the purposes of an inquiry.
(2) An action in tort
does not lie against an inquirer, or any person acting under the direction of
an inquirer, for anything the inquirer or person has done or omitted to do, in
good faith, for the purposes of an inquiry or an inquirer’s report under
section 238.
(3) Nothing in this
section limits section 297.
