(1) Subject to
subregulation (2), a prisoner who is able to work may be employed as the
superintendent directs.
(2) A prisoner on
remand shall not be required to work.
(3) A prisoner on
remand may apply in writing to the superintendent to work and, if such
application is granted, the prisoner may, be employed in the prison in which
he is confined, and be credited with gratuities accordingly.
