ROAD TRANSPORT (GENERAL) REGULATION 2021 - REG 98
Powers of police in emergency or obstruction or danger to traffic
98 Powers of police in emergency or obstruction or danger to traffic
(1) A police officer may, during a temporary obstruction or danger to traffic,
or in an emergency-- (a) direct a person not to cause or permit a vehicle to
park in a pay parking space or pay parking area, or
(b) direct the
responsible person for, or driver of, a vehicle parking in a pay parking space
or pay parking area to remove the vehicle from the space or area, or
(c) if
no person appears to be in charge of a vehicle parked in a pay parking space
or pay parking area--remove the vehicle from the space or area.
(2) A person
must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to comply with a direction under
this section. : Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
(3) In this section--
"pay parking area" includes a part of a pay parking area.
