1996 No. 298 PETROLEUM (SUBMERGED LANDS) (MANAGEMENT OF SAFETY ON OFFSHORE FACILITIES) REGULATIONS - REG 40

Transitional-consents to use fixed platforms, and related safety cases, under the Schedule of Specific Requirements
40. (1) Where a consent to use was, immediately before the commencement of
these Regulations, in force under the Schedule of  Specific Requirements in
respect of a structure referred to in that Schedule as a fixed platform:

   (a)  the consent to use is taken, for the purposes of these Regulations, to
        be a Consent to use granted under regulation 5; and

   (b)  the fixed platform is taken, for those purposes, to be a facility; and

   (c)  the safety case lodged under that Schedule in relation to the fixed
        platform is taken, for those purposes, to be the Safety Case in 
        force for the facility.

(2) To avoid doubt, it is declared that the provisions of these Regulations
relating to the revision of a Safety Case apply in relation to a safety case
to which paragraph (1) (c) applies.

(3) This regulation applies in spite of any other provision of these
Regulations.
